The new Facebook service ‘Facebook Places’, which is a location sharing service which was launched in the States last month, has now been made available in the UK.
Places launched in Japan last week and the UK is now the fourth region where Facebook Places is accessible to Facebook users.
A European launch is supposed to be imminent, but it will be difficult in Germany due to the growing concerns over technology and the infringement of privacy in the country.
The product manager for Facebook Places Michael Sharon said that there were 3 main goals for the new location sharing service are to make it easier for users to share where they are, discover new places and discover new friends.
