Online sales grew in July 2010 at their fastest rate since the beginning of the recession, mainly due to wet weather encouraging home shopping, a survey suggests.
Online sales grew by 18% in July if compared with July last year, the largest jump in sales since 2007. UK shoppers spent around £5 billion on online stores in July, more than any other month this year, IMRG said
All non food sectors showed strong growth and the Office for National Statistics said that online sales volumes jumped by 1.1% compared to June.
